Get to know more about the Eduzone team by meeting our Business Development Manager, Darren!

Tell us a bit about your role at Eduzone:
I’m a Business Development Manager and I assist with development of new business projects from initial discussion with potential suppliers/customers through to integration within Eduzone.
What did you get up to before joining Eduzone?
I started in a ceramics factory pulling trolleys following on to driving lots of different forklift trucks in a print warehouse, eventually working my way up to Manufacturing Manager at an Art and Crafts company. I then changed course and went into a sales role travelling the UK and Europe as a National Account Manager dealing with large Office Products Dealers.
How do you like to start your working day?
I haven’t had to use an alarm clock for 7 years since my little boy was born so he normally comes in and wakes me up and we go straight downstairs for a nice cup of tea for me and a chocolate milk for him (and of course a tea for Mrs T).
What is the highlight of your role?
The highlight would have to be getting great feedback from our satisfied customers. We try to go above and beyond to help our customers with all of the requirements.
What is your favourite Eduzone product/category/collection and why?
My favourite category is construction – I’ve always loved building things and still do especially Lego kits with my little boy. Eduzone have a fantastic range of construction toys suitable for all ages.
What makes Eduzone unique?
Apart from the huge range of fantastic early years products that Eduzone sell, the most unique element is what we offer the customer. Everything from Customer Services through to the Account Managers, Eduzone is 100% committed to helping customers with their enquiries no matter how large or small and nothing is too much trouble.
What should customers look out for in 2021?
It looks as if the country is starting to get back on it’s feet again after the past 12 months of Covid and we at Eduzone are thrilled to be able to exhibit again this year!
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
When I’m not working there is nothing else better than spending time with my family and going on walks with our dog in the countryside and the occasional round of golf.
